21st Century Mobility Test Bed

The 21st Century Mobility Test Bed brings together Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) researchers, industry partners, and public agencies to safely advance connected and automated vehicle technologies. Located at the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus and throughout the Bryan–College Station region, the test bed provides a real-world environment to research, test, and evaluate automated trucks, delivery bots, shuttles, unmanned aerial systems, and next-generation mobility services.

Project Goals and ITM Hub

The 21st Century Mobility Test Bed aims to create a comprehensive research, testing, evaluation, and training environment that supports the safe, efficient, and equitable introduction of connected and automated vehicles and mobility services. This includes automated trucks, passenger shuttles, delivery vehicles, scooters and dockless bikes, unmanned air services, and other emerging technologies—all coordinated with public infrastructure owners and operators.

Through the Integrated Transportation Management Hub (ITM Hub), hands-on research, and workforce development programs, the initiative helps communities prepare for a safer, more efficient, and more connected transportation future.
