Education and Workforce Development
Building the Transportation Workforce of Tomorrow
Preparing the next generation of transportation professionals is a core component of the 21st Century Mobility Test Bed. Through workshops, trainings and industry engagement, these efforts equip students, professionals and community partners with the skills needed for emerging mobility systems.
Workshops and Trainings

Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Workshops
TTI hosted V2X workshops in Bryan/College Station (Feb. 6, 2025) and Frisco (Sept. 4, 2025) to help local agencies and industry partners understand connected vehicle technologies. Sessions highlighted system architectures, application messages, and opportunities for collaboration among regional stakeholders.

Smart Event Traffic Workshop
The test bed sponsored a workshop focused on improving mobility during special events, held in Bryan/College Station on Sept. 17, 2025. Participants explored traffic management strategies, communication practices, and coordination approaches for large university and community events.
STEM Outreach
The test bed supported a STEM presentation at the University of Houston Downtown National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) Summer Camp on July 8, 2025. The session introduced students to emerging opportunities in connected and automated vehicles, data science, operations, and engineering.
Presentations are available for TTI researchers to deliver at high schools and youth programs throughout the region.
